If your table does not have removable leaves, any similar space, such as the space between a couch and coffee table, will do.

In order to reach to the center you must roll the quilt on the rollers. Diagram 6 Rolling the finished part to reach the center of the quilt must be done the same whether you are basting or quilting. Unclamp both ends of one roller and unpin the backing from the stretchers on each side far enough to allow rolling up the basted part. It is easiest to roll with two people, one for each stretcher. Brace the stretcher against your thigh, roll the roller as far as you have basted or quilted, pull it taut and reclamp it.
