X. Track that is laid on comparatively smooth ground. they are convinced that the formal tracking test is not much of a physical challenge. X. D. Test. Under some conditions, the added time of exposure on the longer tracks can cause a busy nose to load with dust and seeds, which can make a dog's job harder.

Unless the one you contact lives close to where a track can be laid, it might be most convenient for him to come to your training area and direct the laying of what he considers an acceptable test track. Before you work your dog in competition, make it a point to visit a Tracking Test with your dog. When you reach the trial grounds, be sure to park in an approved place, and leave him in the car while you locate the designated relief area, so what appears to be unused space is not the location of part of a track.

Don't merely hope for favorable conditions. Prepare for the worst. Then hope for the best.
